Red Mountains is considered one of the seven classic turquoise mines from Nevada. The story is found in Turquoise in America Part Two 1910-1990.
 
This cab weight 5.5 carats and measures 1.5cm X 1cm. It is not treated and is backed. The price is $80 a carat or $440. I have assigned a TG of 91 or GG. Red Mountain has not been mined for many years and is exceptionally rare at this grade. The stone comes from the NevadaGem Collection. The white spot is camera flash.
