Candelaria is a classic turquoise but was never a located claim. The turquoise came from the Candelaria silver mine. The only legal concession was an oral permission given to Wayne Nelson in 1985. The story is found in Turquoise in America Part Two 1910-1990.
This two stone lot weighs 74.5 carats. The largest stone measures 3cm X 2.5cm and weighs 61.2 carats. They are not treated and are not backed. Water web Candelaria is very rare and when available is as much as $50 a carat retail. These are wholesale priced at $30 a carat or $2,235 for the lot. I have assigned a TG of 81 or HG. These were purchased from Wayne Nelson who mined the turquoise in 1985.
White spot in lower cab is camera flash.
